The date of the composition of Bolor toli — one of the most important Mongolian chronicles of the early 19th century — has been for a long time an unsettled question. This paper proposes to throw some light on this problem. For this purpose we have used the manuscript F 305 t. Sh. of the Bolor toli (further Bolor toli I) preserved in the Institute of the Asiatic Peoples, Academy of Science of the USSR and the South-Gobi version of the same work (further Bolor toli II)…
