On March 28-30, 2012, in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, the International academic conference Medieval Cities of Turkmenistan in the System of the Eurasian Civilization was held. The conference was organized by the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan according to an order of the President of Turkmenistan. At the conference around 200 scholars from 35 countries of Asia, Africa, Europe and America submitted their papers divided between five Sessions: Session I. International Cooperation in Preservation and Study of the Historical and Cultural Heritage of the Turkmen People. Session II. Sources and Historiography of the History of Medieval Cities of Turkmenistan. Session III. Medieval Cities of Turkmenistan in the System of the Great Silk Road. Session IV. Development of Material Culture in Medieval Cities of Turkmenistan. Session V. Development of Science and Culture in Medieval Cities of Turkmenistan. The first paper submitted at the session was by Dr Stanislav Prozorov (St Petersburg, Russia) - Mystic Love for God in the Teachings of Khorasan Sufis of the 9th to 11th Centuries.
