On August 12, 2009, H.E. the ninth Gangteng Trulku Rinpoche, one of the most revered tulku lamas of the Nyingma sect of Tibetan Buddhism, with his throne located in Gangteng monastery, Bhutan, visited the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, RAS. The IOM's head Dr I.Popova accepted the honored guest and his disciples at her office. Apart from the constant exhibition of Oriental manuscripts and documents kept at the IOM RAS, the guests were offered a chance to see the temporary exhibition of Tibetan books and icons connected with the Nyingma sect that had been organized specially for their visit.
