The 7th international conference
THE CULTURAL HERITAGE OF THE MONGOLS:
MANUSCRIPT AND ARCHIVAL COLLECTIONS
IN ST. PETERSBURG AND ULAANBAATAR
under the patronage of the President of Mongolia
will be held on April 21–22, 2025

Organisers: the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences; the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. International Association of Mongolian Studies. The National Museum of Genghis Khan. Government of Mongolia.
With the participation of: St. Petersburg State University; Mongolian State University; State Hermitage Museum; Institute of Language and Literature of the Academy of Sciences of Mongolia; Central National Archive of Mongolia; National Library of Mongolia; Russian Ethnographic Museum; Institute of Mongolian Studies, Buddhology and Tibetology SB RAS; B. B. Gorodovikov Kalmyk State University; Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University; Kalmyk Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Venue: Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of the Russian Academy of Sciences (St. Petersburg. Russian Federation)

The conference is dedicated to the study of unique manuscript and archive materials from the collections of Russia and Mongolia that represent the rich cultural heritage of the Mongols. The conference promotes the study of previously unknown materials, as well as the use of innovative methods of research, focusing on historiography, source studies and archive studies.

The conference will cover the following subject areas:

• The study of the Mongolian written legacy
• Mongolian historical sources and new research methods
• Russia and Mongolia: intercultural dialogue
• Structures of administrative systems in history
• The structure of power and the genesis of state in Mongolia
• Mongolian folklore, literature and language: past and present
• Religious traditions in Mongolian culture

Conference languages: Russian, Mongolian, English.

Applications for participation in the conference should be submitted before March 1, 2025. Mongolian participants should send applications to Ts. Enchimeg (enkhchimeg@mas.ac.mn), other participants are asked to send applications to Irina V. Kulganek (kulgan@inbox.ru).

In your application please include your full name, academic degree and rank, affiliation, e-mail address, telephone number, the title of your paper and a short abstract (up to 800 letters).

You will receive the second information letter after March 1, 2025. Publication of the conference proceedings is planned.
