IOM RAS researchers awarded by St Petersburg Governor |

St Petersburg administration awards for outstanding academic achievements in science and technology were presented at the ceremony held at the Smolny on May 26, 2023. Two researchers of the IOM RAS have received the awards from the Governor A. Beglov.
Elena P. Ostrovskaya, Head of the Section of South Asian Studies at the IOM RAS, Doctor of Sciences in Philosophy, was awarded the S.F. Oldenburg Prize (philological sciences) for outstanding contributions to textological research on Sanskrit religio-philosophical texts of medieval India and for development of new methods for studying Buddhist written heritage.
Serguei A. Frantsouzoff, Head of the Department of Middle Eastern and Near Eastern Studies at the IOM RAS, Doctor of Sciences in History, has received the Y.V. Tarle Prize (historical sciences) for significant contributions to the study of Near Eastern written sources in the context of intercivilizational contacts.
