On February 5, 2018, a Jewish delegation headed by Chief Rabbi of St. Petersburg Menachem Mendel Pewzner, Rabbi Shaul Brook and Director of 'Avi Chai' Foundation in the CIS and Baltic countries Rabbi David Rozenson visited the IOM RAS.

The delegation was accepted by the IOM RAS Director Irina F. Popova and Prof. Shimon M. Iakerson who told about the history of Jewish collections preserved at the Institute. The delegation visited the temporary exhibition of Jewish manuscripts and incunabulum, the constant exhibition of Oriental manuscripts kept at the IOM RAS and the Museum of Russian Oriental studies. The new storage room where the Jewish collections would be transferred in the nearest future was demonstrated, too.
