On September 1-3, 2016, at the IOM RAS the International Scholarly Conference devoted to the memory of L.N. Menshikov (1926-2005) and L.l. Chuguevsky (1926-2000) ‘The Written Legacy of Dunhuang’ was held.
The conference was supported by the Russian Humanities Foundation, China Dunhuang Grottoes Conservation Research Foundation (China), Association of Chinese Artists and Musicians (Russia) and organized by the IOM RAS. The final program and abstracts of the papers were published as a brochure and it is also available as a PDF file.
The Consul for Cultural Affairs of the Consulate General of P.R.C. in St.Petersburg, Xia Guangyuan took part in the Conference opening ceremony. The widow of Lev Nikolaevich Menshikov A.A. Menshikova was present at the Ceremonial meeting devoted to the memory of L.N. Menshikov and L.l. Chuguevsky. The detailed account will be published in Written Monuments of the Orient.
