On February 9, 2011, the meeting of the academic seminar Text in the Cultures of the Orient was held by the Council of Young Scholars at the IOM RAS. The issue of the meeting was Issue of Multilingualism in Eastern cultures. Five young scholars and doctoral students presented their short accounts such as D.A. Nosov (on three preeminent Mongolian authors from the 19th century who wrote in both Tibetan and Mongolian), B.J. Khalatian (on Kurdish use of Persian and Arabic and relations between various Kurdish dialects), V.V.Shchepkin (on coexistance of the Japanese and Chinese languages in Japan), M.A. Redina (on bilingualism as an essential feature of Ancient Mesopotamian culture), Dr A.V. Zorin (on the role of Sanskrit for Tibetan literature). |
