On June 3, 2026, a delegation of representatives of the international organization “Friendship Force International” from the city of Izmir (Turkey) visited the IOM RAS as part of the 29th St Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).

This large delegation of 28 members included teachers, doctors, engineers and bank employees. The guests from Turkey were welcomed by Dr. Serguei A. Frantsouzoff, Doctor of Sciences in History, IOM RAS Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, who told the history of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts and the Novo-Mikhailovsky Palace. The delegation visited the permanent exhibition at the Department of Manuscripts and Documents and the Museum of the History of Russian Oriental Studies.

The guests listened attentively to the lecture by Dr. S.A. Frantsouzoff and showed keen interest in the work of the Institute and especially in its Turkological research. All were deeply impressed by the treasures of the manuscript collection. At the end of the visit, representatives of the delegation thanked researchers of the IOM RAS for a warm welcome.
