Information letter 1

The 14th St. Petersburg Tibetological Conference 

will be held at the IOM RAS on November 12‒13, 2025.

 

Location: The Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, RAS (Dvortsovaya emb., 18, Saint Petersburg)
Organized by: The Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, RAS (Asiatic Museum)
With participation of: The Datsan Gunzechoinei Buddhist temple (Saint Petersburg)

St. Petersburg Tibetological Conference gathers researchers from academic institutions, educational and cultural centers in Russia and other countries. A wide variety of topics related to the study of religion, history, literature, language, and art of Tibet and Tibet-influenced regions are discussed during the Conference.

The roundtable “Buddhist education in Saint Petersburg: the 110th anniversary of the Datsan Gunzechoinei” will be organized as part of the Conference in 2025.

Tibetologists and researchers from adjacent fields are invited to participate.

Applications for participation in the Roundtable should be sent to Inna V. Vasilieva, Candidate of Sciences in Biology, by email: radyant@yandex.ru

Deadline for applications: November 1, 2025

Applications should include the following information:
Information about the participant (full name, email, phone number, academic degree, academic title, position and place of work (full title of the institution));
Presentation title and abstract (700 characters (not words) maximum).

Articles based on presentations will be considered for publication in the journal “Mongolica”. Submissions should follow the journal’s format. Texts will be selected by the editorial board of the journal “Mongolica”.

The format of the Conference: in-person. Participation in the Conference and journal publication are free of charge.
