On April 24, 2025, a delegation from the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation (Tripoli, Libya) visited the IOM RAS.

Specialists of the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation headed by Mr. Salem Ramadan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, met with Dr. I.F. Popova, Director of the IOM RAS, Corresponding member of the RAS, and Dr. T.A. Pang, Deputy Director for Academic Affairs, Candidate of Sciences in History. During the visit, Dr. I.F. Popova showed the guests the Institute’s manuscript collection and told about its formation history. Dr. T.A. Pang gave a guided tour of the Museum of the History of Russian Oriental Studies. Mr. Salem Ramadan noted that strong cultural ties between Russia and Libya continue to develop and told about joint events planned in 2025.

Members of the Libyan delegation shared their impressions of the Institute and its collection and expressed their wish to continue active cooperation with the IOM RAS in the future.
