This year’s Diakonoff Readings marking the 110th birthday anniversary of Igor M. Diakonoff (1915‒1999) will be held at the State Hermitage Museum (Saint Petersburg) on April 17‒18, 2025. The Readings are organized by the Hermitage and the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, RAS.

Topics to be discussed at the Readings, reflecting I.M. Diakonoff’s research interests, include a wide range of issues related to research on Mesopotamia and the ancient Near East: political and socio-economic history, literature, religion, languages and writing, archaeology and art.
