International Conference dedicated to the 220th birthday anniversary of academician B.A. Dorn (1805‒1881) Dear Colleagues,
May 11, 2025 is the 220th birthday anniversary of the outstanding scholar of the history and philology of the medieval Near and Middle East, member of the Imperial Academy of Sciences in Saint Petersburg (since 1842), Boris Andreevich (Johannes Albrecht Bernhard) Dorn, the second Director of the Asiatic Museum who contributed greatly to transforming it into an academic research center.
The 47th Annual Session of St Petersburg Arabists will cover a wide range of themes of classical Arabic Studies and related disciplines. It will take place on April 7 and 9, 2025, on Monday and Wednesday, at the IOM RAS (Novo-Mikhailovsky Palace, 18, Dvortsovaya embankment, 191186, St Petersburg, Russia). The working language of the conference is Russian.
