On June 27, 2022 (Monday), Academic Conference “Peter the Great and the East” [Петр Великий и Восток] will be held at the IOM RAS (Green Hall).

The conference will open at 11 am. The opening speech will be made by Irina F. Popova, Director of the IOM RAS, Corresponding member of the RAS, Doctor of Sciences in History.

Eleven presentations are planned in total.

Topics include foreign policy of Peter the Great (East Asia, India, Ottoman Turkey), sciences, Oriental languages teaching, Oriental collections, images of Peter the Great in Qing China, Korea, Vietnam, and Japan.
