On September 11, 2019, a delegation of the representatives of the National Library of Israel headed by the board chairman David Blumberg visited the IOM RAS. The delegation came to St. Petersburg to participate in the opening ceremony of the exhibition "Life in Medieval Khorasan. A Genizah from the National Library of Israel that took place in the Twelve-сolumn Hall of the New Hermitage.

The delegation was accepted by the IOM RAS Director Irina F. Popova and Dr. S.M. Yakerson. The honored guests visited the the permanent exhibition of Oriental manuscripts and specially organised exhibition of the Jewish treasures kept at the IOM RAS. Moreover, S.M. Yakerson delivered a lecture in Hebrew about history of the IOM Jewish collection and its outstanding meaning in the process of the development of modern Hebrew studies.
