The IOM researchers Dr Natalia V. Kozyreva and Dr. Vasily V. Shchepkin are among the winners of the 2019 St. Petersburg Government awards for the outstanding academic results in the field of sciences and technology.

Nelli V. Kozyreva, Doctor of sciences, professor, leading researcher at the IOM RAS received the E. V. Tarle Award for academic achievements in the field of history of Mesopotamia and ancient urban studies. 

 

Vasily V. Shchepkin, Candidate of Sciences, senior researcher at the IOM RAS, received the E. R. Dashkova Award for academic achievements in the field of Japanese studies, in particular history of Japan-Russia relations. 

On May 28, 2019, an official award ceremony took place in Smolny Palace. The awards were granted by the Acting Governor of St Petersburg Mr. Alexander D. Beglov.
