On August 28, 2017, Dr. Muhhamad A. Dandamayev, one of the leading Russian scholars in Persian studies, a well-known expert in the field of Ancient Iranian and Persian history and culture, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, died at the age of 89.
