On April 24, 2004, a representative delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran led by Prof S.M.Khamenei, the President of the Sadra Center of Studies of Islamic Philosophy, visited the St Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies, RAS. The Iranian scholars expressed their interest in the studies of the Muslim Orient carried out by Russian researchers and suggested that academic contacts should be ascertained between scholars from Iran and Arabists and scholars of Iran of the Institute. |
