On May 12, 2004, a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman led by the Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Muhammad bin Abdullah as-Salimi, visited the St Petersburg Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies. The delegation was received by the Arabists who work at the Department of Near Eastern Studies, visited the exhibition of mss kept at the Institute and expressed their willingness to sign an agreement on the two-sided academic cooperation, particularly in the area of Islamic studies. |
