The book Me’or ‘ayin is a brief Karaite grammar of Hebrew. It was composed at the end of the 11th century and differs from all earlier Karaite grammar writings because it was written in Hebrew and not in Arabic. The book was meant for use by the scholars of the Old Testament in Christian countries. Alongside with already well-known grammatical notions, original conceptions of Karaite philologists are presented in this book which differ substantially from the views of Spanish Rabbanite grammarians…
