Born on September 13, 1959 in Leningrad.
In 1995, graduated from the Historical Faculty of St Petersburg State University.
From 1992 up to present, a researcher at the Peter the Great Museum of Anthropology and Ethnography (Kunstkamera) of the RAS.
From 1997 to 2003, a member of the Group of Experts in National Relations at the Governor of St Petersburg.
Publisheв more than 30 academic papers.
Major research interests: modern and contemporary history of Caucasus, traditional beliefs and religious culture of the Nakh people; ethnic cultures of South Eastern Europe, issues related to Basque studies.
