Born on December 27, 1983, in Leningrad, USSR.

Graduate and post-graduate formation, educational and scientific stages:

2001-2005 - Bachelor degree in St. Petersburg State University, faculty of Oriental Studies, African Studies Department. Specialization in Ethiopian philology. Thesis’ subject: “Translation of the novel of Makonnen Zawude “The Ethiopian” (the first 9 chapters) from Amharic into Russian”.

2005-2008 - Facoltà di Studi Arabo-Islamici, nell'Istituto “L'Orientale”, Università degli Studi di Napoli. Laurea triennale in Studi Arabo-Islamici e del Mediterraneo. Thesis: “Zenahu la-Galla (History of the Galla) by Bahrey: critical edition and translation».

2008-2011 - Facoltà di Studi Arabo-Islamici, nell'Istituto “L'Orientale”, Università degli Studi di Napoli. Laurea specialistica in Scienze degli Studi Arabo-Islamici e del Mediterraneo. Specialist's degree Dissertation: Artistic decoration and illumination of Ethiopian manuscripts. The material was obtained by myself in the Lake Tana monasteries, Central Ethiopia.

March - April 2011 - 1 month stage in the Museum Reggia di Caserta in Caserta, Italy. Translation of the Internet site from Italian into Russian.

September 2011 - 1 month work in the project on creation of electronic catalogue of Ethiopian manuscripts on the territory of Ethiopia, Hamburg University, Germany.

October 2011 - started PhD in the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts RAS (specialization 07.00.03 General history (Middle ages)).

May 2012 - attended a series of lectures and practical studies on catalogue and description of South Arabian monumental inscriptions in the High School of Pisa, Italy.

From September 18, 2012 up to the present time - work in Oriental Sector of Manuscripts Department of The Russian National Library, librarian (part time). August 5-18, 2013 - two weeks work in the project on creation of electronic catalogue of Ethiopian manuscripts on the territory of Ethiopia, Hamburg University, Germany.

From September 2014 up to the present time - teaching Arabic and the course of lectures Introduction to the special philology in the St. Petersburg Institute of Iudaica, Philological Faculty.

From January 22, 2014 - started to work in the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts RAS (part time), Senior Assistant. From the January 12, 2015 up to the present time - full time, Research Fellow.

Arabic language studies:

July 2006 - course of Arabic (one month) in the University of Agadir, Morocco.

2008, summer - 1,5 months Arabic course (teaching of Arabic in Arabic) in madrasa in Cairo, Egypt.

December 2008 - two week course of Arabic language and local culture in Nabeul, Tunis.

2009, winter - one month Arabic course (teaching of Arabic in Arabic) in madrasa in Cairo, Egypt. Two week Arabic individual studies with a private teacher in Alexandria, Egypt. Self education in the Library of Alexandria.

Trips to Ethiopia:

Three educational trips to Ethiopia in 2009 (1 week), 2011 (2 weeks) and 2012 (2 weeks). Two of them are linked with the participation in the 17th and 18th International Conferences of Ethiopian Studies.
