Education

1952—1957 — Leningrad State University, the Department of Asian and African Studies, the Section of History of the Ancient Near East;

1957—1960 — doctoral student at the Institute of Oriental Studies, the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Leningrad (now St. Petersburg).

PhD Dissertation

Conjugation of Sumerian Verb on Basis of Heroic Epos. Defended at Leningrad State University, the Department of Asian and African Studies, 1965.

Habilitation Dissertation

The Sumerian Language (Grammar). Defended at St Petersburg State University, the Department of Asian and African Studies, 1998.

Academic Positions

From 1960 up to December 2013 — Junior Researcher, Researcher, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Oriental Studies / the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts of Russian Academy of Sciences.

Teaching experiences

Visiting Lecturer at St Petersburg State University, Oriental the Department of Asian and African Studies, (program entitled The Grammar of Sumerian).

Major Research Interests

Morphology and Syntax of the Sumerian Language.
