On May 31, 2024, a delegation from Saudi Arabia led by His Royal Highness Prince Turki ibn Faisal Al Saud has visited the IOM RAS as part of events celebrating the centennial of diplomatic relations between Russia and Saudi Arabia.

His Royal Highness Prince Turki ibn Faisal Al Saud is the chairman of the King Faisal Foundation's Center for Research and Islamic Studies.

Irina F. Popova, Director of the IOM RAS, Corresponding Member of the RAS, has shown the permanent exhibition in the Department of Manuscripts as well as the exhibition of the most precious IOM RAS manuscripts that was especially organized for the distinguished guests. Possibilities of cooperation with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were also discussed during the visit.
