The Fourth International Academic Conference
THE TURKO-MONGOL WORLD: PAST AND PRESENT in memoriam of Sergei G. Klyashtorny (1928–2014)
will be held on February 12–13, 2019
Sergei G. Klyashtorny was an eminent Russian Turkologist, scholar of wide-ranging research interests, professor of a number of Russian and foreign universities who made a major contribution to the studies of the history and culture of Turkic and Mongolian ethnic groups. The conference will focus on the urgent problems of the history, literature and languages of the Turkic and Mongolian peoples that were studied by Sergei Klyashtorny. Memorial speeches will be dedicated to the scholar’s professional contributions and academic journey.
The main aim of the conference is to present the latest achievements of the multilateral studies of the Turko-Mongol world, as well as to demonstrate the potential of modern research methods in this field.
VENUE: Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, Russian Academy of Sciences, 18 Dvortsovaya Emb., St. Petersburg, Russia.
WORKING LANGUAGES: Russian, English.
Conference applications [download form] are to be submitted to the Organizing Committee by e-mail by December 1, 2019.
Successful applicants will receive a notice of acceptance in the second circular after December 1, 2019. The Organizing Committee reserves the right to select papers to be included in the conference program. Abstracts are expected to be published before the conference. Authors of selected reports will be offered to publish their papers in the journals of the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts RAS (MONGOLICA and WRITTEN MONUMENTS OF THE ORIENT).
The visa, transport and accommodation costs will be covered by the participants.
