On November 11, 2013, at the meeting of the Academic Council of the IOM RAS, Dr. E.I. Vasilyeva read a lecture The Kurdish Historiographers and Some Issues of the History of the Land of the Kurds (as represented with South Eastern Kurdistan) [Курдские историографы и проблемы истории страны курдов (на примере Юго-Восточного Курдистана)].

The highest level of political organization of the Kurds was in the form of Emirates as parts of various empires in the region covered now with Turkey, Iran and Iraq. The names of some Kurdish historiographers who flourished in Ardelan, an area in South Eastern Kurdistan, return to us from oblivion so more than ten of them along with the titles of their chronicles of the Ardelan and Baban Emirates are well established.
