On October 6, 2013, the IOM chief  researcher Prof. Dr. Vladimir A. Livshits, a great expert in Iranian studies, celebrated his 90th birthday. His pupils, friends and colleagues prepared the Festschrift in his honor entitled Commentationes Iranicae that included 59 papers.

The presentation of the Festschrift was held at the Green Chamber of the Institute on October 25, 2013. There were present many IOM researchers and authors of the papers, including some foreign guests. Some of them gave their speeches such as the IOM Director Dr. I. Popova, Dr. S. Tokhtasyev (a co-editor of the Festschrift), Frantz Grenet (Paris), Dr. Judith Lerner (New York), Dr. V.N. Yagodin (Nukus), Dr. Shaul Shaked (Jerusalem), etc. The warmest congratulations from the Tajik Academy of Sciences and Karakalpak Academy of Sciences were recited. The great scholar gave a heartfelt speech in return.
