On July 3, 2012, a high representative of the Ministry of Culture of India, Mr Ravindra Singh, visited the IOM RAS, being interested in academic acitivities and manuscripts collection of the Institute. In addition to the constant exhibition of mss of various Eastern writings, a special exhibition of mss in languages of India was prepared for the guest.

Mr R. Singh showed much interest and professional knowledge of written traditions of Eastern people and pronounced his intention to contribute to maintaining academic and cultural contacts between the IOM's scholars and Indian humanities academics. Mt R. Singh was especially interested in possibilities of exchanges of exhibitions of manuscript heritage of the East.
