Defence of PhD Dissertation by M.Yunusov |

On December 16, 2011, at the meeting of the Dissertation Council of the IOM RAS the PhD Dissertation by Marat M. Yunusov, The History of Cities of the Fenician Seaside during the Second Half of the 2nd Millennium BC [История городов финикийского побережья во второй половине II тысячелетия до н. э.], supervised by Prof Dr Y.B. Tsirkin, Novgorod State University, was defended.
16 members of the Council headed by Prof Dr E.I. Kychanov took part in the meeting. Two official opponents such as a member of the Dissertation Council, Dr Y.A. Vinogradov, the Institute of History of Material Culture, RAS, and Dr I.S. Klochkov, St Petersburg State University, submitted their positive reviews, that by Dr Klochkov being announced by the Council’s academic secretary, Dr S.A. Frantsouzoff, since the opponent could not attend the defense due to his illness.
During discussion Prof Dr O.G. Bolshakov, a member of the Dissertation Council, Dr S.A. Frantsouzoff, Dr T.A. Pang, the Head of the Department of Far Eastern Studies, IOM RAS, delivered their opinions. Moreover, N.O. Chekhovich, junior researcher at the Department of Ancient Eastern Studies, IOM RAS, asked the candidate a question on his Dissertation.
The Dissertation Council decided unanimously to petition the Russian Highest Classification Committee for granting M.M. Yunusov the PhD degree. |
