On September 30, 2011, the meeting of the academic seminar Text in the Cultures of the Orient was held by the Council of Young Scholars at the IOM RAS. The issue of the meeting was Economic texts in Eastern Literatures. The major presentation was made by Marina A. Redina, doctoral student and academic secretary at the Department of Ancient Eastern Studies, who told about economic texts from Ancient Messopotamia. Her presentation was followed with accounts of D.A. Nosov, doctoral student at the Department of Central Asian Studies (on the joint Russian Mongolian project of the study of the census of Mongolian camping-grounds carried out in 1911 with supervision of Russian economists), A.A. Sizova, doctoral student and research assistant at the Department of Manuscripts and Documents (on the documents of economic life of Mongolian monasteries at the collection of the IOM RAS). Finally, Dr A.V. Zorin, head of the CYS, briefly told about a Tibetan debt warrant from the Khara Khoro collection and K.M. Bogdanov, junior researcher at the Department of Manuscripts and Documents, on perspectives of the study of economic texts from the Tangut collection kept at the IOM RAS.
