On December 18, 2009, in St Petersburg the Jubilee Scholarly Historical Conference dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of Birthday of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich (13.10.1832-5.12.1909) was held. At the conference a dozen papers on the life of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich and his legacy were presented. At the opening of the conference, Dr S.Frantsouzoff told about the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, located now at the Novomikhailovsky Palace that had belonged to Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich before the Russian Revolution 1917. The Jubilee cards with the portrait of Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich were printed and presented to the participants of the conference and the IOM's staff. A number of the copies were passed also to the Mikhailo-Athonsky Monastery, founded by Grand Duke Mikhail Nikolaevich.
