On October 9-11, 2009, in Baku the International Ibn al-Arabi Symposium dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of Professor Aida Imanguliyeva East and West: Common Spiritual Values, Scientific-Cultural Links was held. The Symposium was organized by the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, the Ibn al-Arabi Society, Oxford, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. At the Plenary Session of the Symposium and Sessions of its six Panels about 60 papers were presented by scholars from Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkey, the UK, France, the USA, Bosnia, Spain, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Syria, and Iran. Dr S.M.Prozorov, the Institute of Oriental Manuscripts, presented the paper Prophet Mohammad as the Perfect Embodiment of Mystic Love for God in the Tradition of Mysticism [Пророк Мухаммад в суфийской традиции как совершенное воплощение мистической любви к Богу], based upon his research into the unique Arabic ms of the treatise by Shaidhala, a Sufi writer from the 2nd half of the 5th/11th century.
