Jubilee of Dr N.Nosova Print E-mail

On September 22, 2009, Dr Nadezhda I. Nosova, a researcher at the IOM's Department of Oriental Manuscripts and Documents, celebrated her Jubilee.

In 1963, Dr N.I.Nosova graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Leningrad University, the section of Burmese Philology. She was then admitted to the Leningrad Branch of the Institute of Oriental Studies, the USSR Academy of Sciences as a doctoral student and in 1967 as a junior researcher.

In 1982, she defended the PhD dissertation entitled Nominalization and Substantivization of Verbs and Verbal Constructions in Burmese [Номинализация и субстантивация глаголов и глагольных конструкций в бирманском языке]. From 1982 to 2003, worked at the Department of Oriental Manuscripts and Documents, took part in academic sessions held at the Institute. Dr N.I.Nosova's publications are on various issues of Burmese Grammar.

After a short break, Dr N.I.Nosova returned to the Institute in 2005 and carried on her work at the Department of Oriental Manuscripts and Documents as a researcher.

Dr N.I.Nosova has professional merits and high human qialities, she is extremely attentive and friendly towards all the readers and visitors. It is impossibe to imagine the life of the Institute and the Department of Oriental Manuscripts and Documents.

The colleagues of Dr N.I.Nosova congratulate her with the Jubilee and wish her strong health and academic success.
