On Friday, October 24, 2008, at 11.00 the defence of the PhD dissertation by Dmitry A. Bratkinn took place at the Dissertation Council of the IOM.

The dissertation is entitled The Court Protocol In Ancient Rome, Reconstructed By Papyrology, As a Source For the Study Of Early Christian History (On the Basis Of the Acts Of Apostles) [Римский судебный протокол по данным папирологии как источник для изучения раннехристианской истории (на материале Деяний Апостолов)].

The supervisor was Dr I.A.Levinskaya (the St Petersburg Institute for the Study of History, the Russian Academy of Sciences), the official opponents Dr A.P.Bekhter (the Medical Department of St Petersburg University) and corresponding member of the RAS Dr A.I.Ivanchik.

In the free discussion Th.M. A.A.Tarasenko (the University of South Africa, Pretoria) and Dr S.R.Tokhtasyev (the IOM) took part.

D.A.Bratkin was granted doctoral degree.
