In February 2015 the participants of the field trip to the Republic of Sudan
visited one of the country’s oldest spiritual centres, the town of al-Aylafun
(‘al-‘īlafūn) located on the east bank of the Blue Nile about thirty kilometres
south-east of Khartoum. The road leading south features a traffic sign pointing
the direction of al-Aylafun which names the holy men whose qubbas are located
in al-Aylafun...
